EDUCATION
Dr. Emenike’s educational journey commenced at the University of Port Harcourt College of Health Sciences, where he obtained a BMed Sc. in Pharmacology in 1986, delving into the intricacies of drug interactions and their effects on the human body.
Building upon his foundation in pharmacology, he pursued his medical degree at the same institution and graduated with an MBBS/MD in 1989, marking the beginning of his journey as a medical practitioner.
Driven by a desire to specialize further and expand his knowledge, Dr. Emenike pursued and successfully completed the MWACP (Member of the West Africa College of Physicians) program at the National Post Graduate Medical College, solidifying his expertise in the medical field.
Understanding the importance of blending medical proficiency with management skills, Dr. Emenike attended the Executive Business Management Program EB17 at the UCLA Anderson School of Business in 2013, gaining valuable insights into healthcare administration and leadership.
Internship and Residency:
In the pursuit of hands-on experience and comprehensive training, Dr. Emenike embarked on a challenging Medical Internship from 1996 to 1997 at Bridgeport Hospital Yale School of Medicine. During this time, he engaged in the combined program of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, honing his clinical skills and patient care abilities.
His dedication and exemplary performance led him to join the Bridgeport Hospital Yale School of Medicine once again, this time as a Resident from 1997 to 2000. During the residency program, Dr. Emenike immersed himself in the dynamic fields of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, acquiring invaluable expertise in managing a wide range of medical conditions. His remarkable proficiency and leadership qualities were recognized, and he was appointed as Chief Resident in 2000, guiding and inspiring fellow medical professionals.
Fellowships and Board Certifications:
Driven by a pursuit of excellence and specialization, Dr. Emenike pursued fellowships at prestigious institutions to further elevate his medical expertise.
From 2004 to 2005, he completed a Fellowship at Harvard Medical School, focusing on Pain Management at Spaulding Rehab Hospital in Boston. Through this fellowship, he acquired advanced skills in pain relief and improved the quality of life for numerous patients.
In 2022, Dr. Emenike further broadened his skill set by undertaking a Fellowship in Endoscopic Spine Surgery at CESS-SHOT, mastering cutting-edge surgical techniques to provide the best possible care to his patients.
Dr. Emenike’s dedication to staying at the forefront of medical advancements is evident in his numerous board certifications. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine (ABIM) and Pediatrics (AAP) since 2000, and in Pain Medicine (ABA) since 2005.
